BECOME A MAGIC OF HOPE PARTY HOST!

As Covid-19 cases continue to decrease and restrictions are easing, you may think about ways to safely host a Watch Party! Being with your friends and loved ones while we all celebrate our Parkinson's community is the next best thing to being ALL together in person. We have some fun hosting ideas for you:

HOLD A WATCH PARTY AT YOUR HOUSE

CELEBRATE with your friends and family in your home. Purchase the delicious dinner and/or drink kits curated by Cameron Catering (REGISTER first, then order!) or provide your own food. Before 6pm make sure your guests are logged into the online bidding site on their phones, and that you have the Zoom link* for the event pulled up on your computer and/or streaming tv. If you are viewing on a streaming tv, please have a laptop also logged into the Zoom event with your group on camera!

HOST A ZOOM PARTY WITH YOUR OWN PRIVATE BREAKOUT ROOM

The perfect solution to hosting a virtual party during a pandemic, or when your friends and family are scattered all over the place! We will have zoom rooms available after 5pm PT on Friday March 11. SEND US THE NAME OF YOUR ZOOM ROOM (email krichards@apdaparkinson.org) and we will set it up for you! Think “Laurie’s Gala Get-Together” or “Carl’s Crazy Crew” - make it unique so your guests can find it easily. Make sure all your guests have registered for the event, have the Zoom link* AND the name of your breakout room. When they log in on March 11 they just have to select your breakout room. 

How to self-select a zoom room

1. Click Breakout Rooms  in your meeting controls.
2. This will display the list of open break rooms, find the name of the room you will be joining
3. Hover your pointer over the number to the right of breakout room you wish to join, click Join, then confirm by clicking Join. 

Easy! Then a few minutes before the live show will start, the breakout rooms will be closed and you will automatically be ushered into the live event.  If you didn’t get your visiting done BEFORE the show, you can go back into your room AFTER the show! Rooms will close at 7:30pm PT.​​

WATCH ON YOUR OWN OR WITH YOUR SPOUSE/FAMILY

Get your cocktail or snack ready and settle in for an hour of FUN! Make sure you are logged in to the online bidding site AND have joined the event live on Zoom*. You can log in early and join the APDA LOBBY room to mingle with other guests before (and after) the show.

Starting at 6pm your microphones will be muted so there are no unintentional interruptions to the live show. But you will still be able to see guests on the screen behind the auctioneer and emcee, and we hope to see you too, so feel free to dress festive!
